The Australian Red Cross

The Australian Red Cross is RSM Bird Cameron's national community initiatives partner.

The main highlight of this partnership is RSM Bird Cameron Day held annually in March when RSM Bird Cameron staff participate to raise funds and awareness for the Australian Red Cross. Our staff's involvement includes fund raising activities, giving blood and assisting at Red Cross community centres.

Individual RSM Bird Cameron offices are also actively involved in a number of local initiatives with the Red Cross. In Melbourne, our staff participate in The Good Start Breakfast Club, where staff volunteers serve breakfast for school children in areas of greatest need, who otherwise may go without. Our Perth office is also a proud participant in Cross Dress for Red Cross Day, encouraging staff to raise funds for Red Cross community services by swapping gender attire for a day.

Toodyay Bushfire Appeal

RSM Bird Cameron responded promptly when the Toodyay bushfire broke out just after Christmas day in 2009 and ravaged the township, 80km northeast of Perth.

With a number of our offices having clients in the Toodyay area, we have  developed a strong relationship with the community over a long period of time. The firm made a donation of $10,000 to the Bushfire Appeal and Central Zone director Sandy Hatherly presented the cheque to Toodyay Community Bank manager Grant McLeod.
